Leonard Henry Rochford received Royal Aero Club Aviator‘s Certificate 1840 on the L. & P. biplane at London & Provincial School, Hendon on 7 October 1915. He went on to serve in the Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS), first with 3 Squadron, which upon the creation of the Royal Air Force (RAF) on April 1, 1918, became 203 Squadron RAF.

 

Rochford was a fighter pilot who survived the war with 29 German aircraft to his credit.
