I have a Sopwith propeller boss which I purchased from a junk shop about 50 years ago. It has the following markings:

    C1 110
    AD 644 RH
    ARI SOPWITH F1 (maybe E1)
    D2590
    P2650
    TRACTOR

Could anyone help with identification of which aircraft this was fitted to?

    Thanks

    Martin

    Hi Martin,

The propeller was fitted to an F1 Sopwith Camel fitted with an Admiralty Rotary 1, later known as the Bentley Rotary 1. It must be a fairly early Bentley Camel as the name change took place in late 1916.

If you have any photographs the WO Bentley Memorial Foundation would be very grateful.

    All the best,
    Tom Dine
