Hello – First post. I am trying to identify the aircraft, pilot and scene in a series of paintings by RS Ashby, who was himself a Sopwith Camel pilot before he was shot down/crash landed and invalided out of the RFC. He tended to be meticulous in his pictures (apart from sometimes Serial Numbers!) and most of the subjects are well known in some way. Some have me stumped though like this Neiuport and Se5 vs Albatros (I think) … I wondered if the Se5 was Bishop’s given the blue nose and wheels, but all the illustrations show this to be the full nose not just the radiator cover – which looks more like a flight identifier … Does anyone have any ideas who this might be ? Many thanks
