I have Cecil Douglas Morrison being on the staff at Cranwell with the position of Transport Officer from 7th February 1916, presumably until he was posted to France at the beginning of February 1917. His “CV” in his Air76 file states that he was in charge of the Gunnery Range at Freiston – does anyone know if this would be a Cranwell based position or was there accommodation at Freiston? And would it be concurrent with his Role as Transport Officer?
I have also been looking for a photo of CD Morrison whilst on the staff of Cranwell, my feeling being that if he was there for the best part of a year he must appear in at least one of the staff photographs – the pandemic seems to have stopped any replies from the librarian at Cranwell. The RAF Museum has some Cranwell Staff photos but nothing with Morrison on. Any suggestions?
Mike
