Does anyone know whether the pre-war RFC issued press releases about its activities or whether the two journals, Flight & Aeroplane, shared a reporting service as the same details appear in both journals.
Either both report activities around the squadrons for a given week, with identical information, or neither do.
Or is it all just coincidence?
Hi Paul,
I’m no expert on these things, but it looks to me
like it was an official release from the War Office.
Thanks for that. It certainly looks official, where did you find it??
Paul.
Hi Paul,
It’s from ‘Flight’.
The first time ‘Flight’ published the ‘War Office Summary of work’, would appear to
be in it’s 8 March 1913 edition.
It is signed War Office, March 4th (see image).
In the same 8 March edition, under the heading ‘From The British Flying Grounds’,
is ‘Flight’s’ own report on the R.F.C (see images).
I think this answers your question.
