Hi Brian,
Matryn was flying B.E.2a serial 385 throughout July 1914, and flew it to France on 13 August, so it seems resaonabvle to assumne that he flew if down from Montrose, starting on 3 August.
I wrote an article about him for the journal not long back, which describes his activities in some detail.
Paul.
Looking for the serial number of the Be2 flown by Lt Martyn of 2 sqdn RFC on the flight down from Scotland on August 3rd 1914 and did of of those squadron aircraft make landing in Lincolnshire during that flight.
Thanking you in anticipation
I though I had replied Paul but cannot see it, so just in case. Thankd for your feed back
