Hello everyone. I have just become a member, continuing my long standing interest in ww1 aviation.
I am currently trying to find out anything I can about 16 squadron RFC.
I have Duncan Grinnell-Milne’s excellent Wind in the Wires. His descriptions of the tiny aerodrome at Merville coupled with the squadron subsequently moving to nearby and swampy la Gorgue fascinates me. Why did the squadron use these odd fields?
I’ve been looking through the back issues and it seems that Colin Waugh wrote a history of 16 squadron for the US version of the C&C journal (vol 18 issue 4). Does anyone know of a way to get a copy of that please?
