2nd Lt John Douglas Lightbody who crashed in our village flew a Sopwith Camel.
The Gotha’s and Zeppelin Staaken took of to London from the German Airfield of the RFA 501 in our village.
The construction of the Zeppelins was also in Friedrichshafen.
