ABOUT US

Over the past 50 years, we’ve built a thriving community of over 1,000 members based in over 25 countries around the world.

The Great War Aviation Society is a registered charity (1117741) dedicated to researching, preserving and sharing information about this trailblazing era in global aviation. We’re always eager to hear from new members and welcome people of all backgrounds – from First World War academics to modellers, enthusiasts, and family tree researchers.

WHAT WE DO

With the help of our volunteers and a substantial archive, we conduct in-depth research, publishing information on all things related to First World War aviation.

Journals
Cross & Cockade International

Our quarterly journal is at the heart of the Society and publishes detailed articles written by the world’s leading aviation historians. These are supported by a large selection of photographs; many from private collections and extremely rare. Where appropriate, accurate scale drawings are published.
